Attendance at Portsmouth Schools

We would like to thank our parents for their continued support with ensuring high levels of attendance at our academy. Our school has the second best attendance in the city (after St Edmunds) and we are pleased to be able to work in partnership with parents.

The News recently published an article about the concerning low rate of attendance to Portsmouth primary and secondary schools. Portsmouth City Council deputy director of children’s services Mike Stoneman said: ‘Figures from the most recent Department for Education report showed that pupils with no absence were 2.2 times more likely to achieve five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C, now the equivalent level four to nine, than pupils missing 10 to 15 per cent of lessons.’ We continue to encourage our students to maintain at least 96% attendance so that they can achieve their potential.
