A message for our Year 7 parents and carers:

Year 7 Meet the Tutor Evening.

This event provides an opportunity for you to meet your child's form tutor, who will be supporting them throughout the academic year. It is also a chance to find out how your child has settled into Year 7, learn more about life at The Portsmouth Academy, and ask any questions you may have about the year ahead.

  • Session 1: 3:30pm to 4:15pm
  • Session 2: 4:15pm to 5:00pm

Allergy Awareness:

To help keep all pupils safe, please ensure the school has up-to-date information about any allergies your child may have. Accurate allergy information enables us to put appropriate support plans in place, train staff effectively, and respond quickly in an emergency. We all have a part to play in creating a safe environment, including following our nut-aware policy and being mindful of the food brought into school. If your child has an allergy, please contact the school or update their details via Arbor. Be Allergy Aware Posters for AAW25

Shape your future in education at Thinking Schools Academy Trust’s careers event

April 1, 2026 10:09am

The Portsmouth Academy is delighted to be hosting Thinking Schools Academy Trust’s regional careers event on Wednesday 22nd April 2026.

Taking place in the main hall from 4:30-6:30pm, the event provides a fantastic opportunity to explore current vacancies and network with us to discover the range of exciting roles we have in Portsmouth.

Regional Director Mr D. Botting will welcome everyone as they arrive, to share the various different pathways into education.

A variety of roles, both in teaching and non-teaching capacities, will be showcased, and current staff from Thinking Schools Academy Trust will be on hand to answer any questions.

Mr Botting spoke ahead of the event about why we’re looking for the best talent; helping to achieve our mission to Transform Life Chances

“This is an exciting opportunity for you to hear more about how to get involved in our work at The Portsmouth Academy and across Thinking Schools Academy Trust.

“We have a range of roles, as well as the chance to talk about professional growth and learning which is a really important part of what we offer to all our colleagues”.

The event will also highlight how metacognition is central to everything we do, and Mr Botting is looking forward to seeing what others could bring to the trust.

“Metacognition and Thinking Tools are essential to how we go about our work; it’s important for our staff as well as our students.

“We’d also like to hear from you about what you can offer to get involved in supporting our school community as we take the next steps into the new academic year”.

We take pride in transforming careers, which includes fully funded development pathways, bespoke coaching and mentoring, and opportunities to progress.

We also offer a comprehensive benefits platform, and access to a range of resources to support your physical and mental wellbeing.
