A message for our Year 7 parents and carers:

Year 7 Meet the Tutor Evening.

This event provides an opportunity for you to meet your child's form tutor, who will be supporting them throughout the academic year. It is also a chance to find out how your child has settled into Year 7, learn more about life at The Portsmouth Academy, and ask any questions you may have about the year ahead.

  • Session 1: 3:30pm to 4:15pm
  • Session 2: 4:15pm to 5:00pm

Allergy Awareness:

To help keep all pupils safe, please ensure the school has up-to-date information about any allergies your child may have. Accurate allergy information enables us to put appropriate support plans in place, train staff effectively, and respond quickly in an emergency. We all have a part to play in creating a safe environment, including following our nut-aware policy and being mindful of the food brought into school. TECH:TRUCK inspires students to consider a future in technology

Students at The Portsmouth Academy have been inspired to explore a future career in computing, gaming development, virtual reality, and more thanks to a popular mobile education and technology roadshow.

TECH:TRUCK, a van that showcases technologies including virtual and augmented reality systems, marine and flight simulation technologies, fully programmable robotic arms, drones, and 3D printers, visited the school on Friday 26th May.

Georgia, from HSDC who brought the TECH:TRUCK to the school, said the workshops were focused on inspiring young minds and giving pupils a flavour of the technology that’s driving a major industry.

She said: "The majority of students at the moment will go into a job that doesn’t exist yet, so it’s important they get a taste and learn the fundamentals of digital technology.

"Being here at The Portsmouth Academy is all about getting young people interested in tech by showcasing the post-school studying opportunities that are out there and the jobs that may interest them.

"Some of the technology we have on board is used by many major organisations, such as NASA and car companies. We also have an X-Box full of simulator games, covering flying, marine, farming and more."
